Develop Your Skills and Confidence

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is heavily rooted in grabs, locks, and chokes. Derived from traditional Japanese Jiu-Jitsu, BJJ was altered to accommodate size and reach for smaller combatants. The idea is to nullify any height and weight advantages your opponent may have while capitalizing on your skills. Because of this, anyone can learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and take advantage of its well-developed techniques. Our students will learn about proper leverage, technique, and ground fighting for self-defense and competitive forms. During ground fighting, we’ll study the pivotal Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu positions of guard, side control, mount, and back all in a friendly and engaging environment.

No-Gi Class

The traditional uniform worn for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is called a Gi. Because BJJ fighting can take place in and out of Gi, our classes break into Gi and no-Gi. The no-Gi class focuses on Jiu-Jitsu in a way that changes the way we control grips, leading to a more wrestling and leg lock-orientated style of combat. Movements without the Gi tend to be faster and give a broader understanding of fighting while building confidence in one’s own skill set. Competitive Jiu-Jitsu, like MMA fighting, as well as any self-defense situation, are done without a Gi. This class is welcome to all experience levels, as it is an important aspect to learn.
