Black Diamond Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu proudly offers all-levels BJJ classes by our black belt instructors trained in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. There has never been a shortage of bold claims in martial arts, but none have backed them better than Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Effective as both a self-defense martial art as well as a safe physical fitness activity, this form of submission grappling has proven potent in every arena. Unlike martial arts that depend heavily on specialized strikes such as Krav Maga, Kung-Fu, Taekwondo, and Karate, the techniques of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu are potent from even the novice student – not just the masters. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu does not depend on the use of strikes, but could provide a positional advantage where strikes could be beneficial in a self-defense situation or mixed martial arts fight.
The Reno/Sparks area in northern Nevada has plenty of BJJ schools, but Black Diamond is among the very few to utilize an experienced team of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu black belt instructors to safely teach students, kids and adults alike. Students of all ages can learn this efficient form of close-range fighting that focuses on taking an opponent to the ground, and then dominating position to control their body movement with the ability to incapacitate.
